Its great to be the youngest!

Kevin and I are both the youngest in our families. That means...we both have older siblings that are done having kids. So we have gotten a ton of clothes from them. A few weeks ago, I was getting Drey dressed one day and I was just feeling like he wears the same things over and over again. And some of his clothes were starting to get small on him. I thought, well...time to go shopping I guess. But then I remembered...I have a ton of clothes down in my basement just waiting for him to grow into. So, I went "shopping" in my basement! I went down, and this is what I came up with. Isn't it great? This is only the 12-18 month clothes.

I have been spring cleaning my house. Its been really hard to do all by myself with 2 kids! Drey follows me around, climbs up behind me on the stool when I'm cleaning up high, and he loved the vacuum the other day. He thought it was fun to stand on.

Jena loves to play on the computer. It amazes me how she can manuver around the mouse, click on whatever she wants, and can do it all by herself. I can leave her and she is just fine to play by herself. She's only 2!




For some reason, lately Drey has been all about his carseat. I often find him just sitting or laying in it in the kitchen.

So, I have been thinking for about the last month, that Jena is at the point where she doesn't really need a nap everyday. Its so hard for me to not give her a nap, because that is MY time. I love it when both of my kids are asleep and I can have some peace and quiet to myself. (I really do love my kids, I promise!) But lately it is just a fight to get her to lay down for a nap, and by the time I actually do get her to stay down in her bed, its late and I really would rather her not take a nap because then she won't go to bed at night. Here are just a couple funny pictures of the first day that I purposely didn't give her a nap... This was dinner time. I was trying to get mine and Kevin's dinner ready and both of my kids were screaming! (I don't know why Drey was crying...probably just because Jena was.) I thought it was actually funny I had to take a picture. Lets just say, I reconsidered my whole no nap idea the next day. Its now about an every other day nap routine.

Better late than never...

Just a quick update on what we've been up to. I know, I haven't even posted since Christmas, so I guess this is better late than never. We had a great Christmas. It was so fun this year, especially with Jena. She knew what was going on and had a great time opening presents. It is nice to have some new toys for the kids to play with and entertain them so I can get some stuff done around here. Dreyson has become quite the busy body. He has learned to crawl and he is everywhere! He is pulling himself up to everything and of course, getting into everything. Jena is almost all the way potty trained. I am so proud of her. She is doing so good. Hopefully not much longer and I will be able to say she is totally done. She is so cute and loves to help me do things. Sometimes its too much help. Kevin is back in school. I can't wait until the day I can say he is finally done with school. (It's not anytime soon...) It makes for very long days for all of us,with him working and in school, but the kids keep me busy here at home. I had so many pictures I wanted to post, so I decided to do a slideshow so I could show them all!

This past weekend, we were lucky enough to see Santa twice. First at our ward Christmas party, then later that same day at Kevin's grandparents Christmas party. It was so fun! I was so proud of both of my kids. Neither of them were scared or cried! I was especially proud of Jena. She is usually either really scared of people, or really friendly. I didn't know which one it was going to be with Santa. While she was waiting for her turn, she kept telling us "I'm so excited!!" It was so cute. Then when it was her turn, she just walked right up to him and got on his lap. She even talked to him and told him what she wanted. What a cute girl! Drey also wasn't scared. He just didn't know what to think. He just sat on his lap and stared at him. What cute kids I have!

So Different

I was just thinking about how different Dreyson looks now than when he was first born. So, I thought I would post a couple of pictures just to compare how different he looks. Here is a picture of him at 5 weeks, and a picture of him now.

Peek a Boo

This is Drey's new thing to do. Whenever I go in to get him out of his bed, he will be peeking out from under the bumper pads. Its so cute! (I was washing his sheets that day, so if you're wondering why he's just laying on the mattress, that's why. I did lay blankets down for him though. I didn't make him sleep on just his mattress. )
