I'm a big kid now!

That's right- Dreyson is potty trained! Hooray!!! I honestly didn't think it was possible before I have the baby in July. But after I read about the 3 Day Potty Training (thanks Hillary!) I figured it was worth a try.

I'm not going to lie- It was HARD! Days 1 & 2 were so hard. I was pretty much ready to give up on day 2. But somewhere between day 2 and day 3, it "clicked." We didn't have a single accident on day 3. Not that we haven't had an accident since or that we won't in the future, but going on day 10 now and we are doing great. Now I get a 3 month diaper break!

Happy Birthday Drey!

My sweet little Dreyson turned 2 last weekend. I know I say this about every little milestone in my kids life, but I can't believe he's 2 already! Time goes by too fast! I absolutely love this little guy. Seriously, how can you not? Look at that cute face!

Here he is with his birthday presents. Dreyson is a very busy boy. I tried really hard to buy him presents where he could be active. He is not one to sit and play, not even with cars, so I had to think of things that he could do. He got a t- ball set, stick horse, and some new toys for our sandbox. Hopefully that will keep us busy outside this summer.
Drey loves trains! He goes crazy when he sees any sort of train. Here he's showing off his new Thomas the Train shirt. He also got a Thomas book that plays music from Nana and Papa, and a Mickey Mouse train from my sisters. They all know him well. (He also LOVES Mickey Mouse.)

Here are just a few things about Drey:

-Drey is such a sweetheart. He loves to cuddle and snuggle. He still comes in my room every morning and snuggles up to me. Sometimes he stays for a minute, sometimes for an hour, but he does it every day.

-Drey loves to tease. He thinks he is so funny when he takes something of some one's and then pretends to give it back, only to turn and run off. He will do this over and over.

-Drey is still not a talker. We are hoping that will improve in the next few months.(at least before his 3rd birthday. ha!) Here are a few things he does say:

• Mom
• Dad
• Nana
• Papa
• Puppy (This is what he calls Jena. We ask him to call for Jena and he will yell "Puppy!" Too funny!)
• Cookie/Mickey/Kitty (these are all the same word, you just have to pay attention to what he's doing or pointing at)
• Baby
• Pop (he says this for bubbles)
• Cheese /Keys (again, same word, just have to watch what he's doing)
• He can sign for milk, please, and thank you.

-I used to say that Drey was definitely a mama's boy, but he's starting to make me think otherwise. He asks for Daddy first thing in the morning. (after he cuddles with me- ha!) He loves to watch for Kevin to come home from work and he is usually the first to greet Kevin at the door. He asks for Daddy at night when brushing teeth and always wants Kevin to do it, which makes it hard when Kevin is still gone to school at night. I have to convince him to let me help him.

-Drey absolutely loves Jena. He will go along with almost anything she says. He follows her around all day and wants to do just what Jena is doing, even if it includes playing barbies, dolls, or house. He laughs at anything Jena laughs at. I know there are times when they are watching cartoons and he doesn't understand that something is funny, but he will laugh because Jena does.

-Dreyson loves his Grandpa's. Whenever we go to either set of Grandparents house, he goes straight for Grandpa every time.

The Countdown Is On!

After 5 (LONG) years, Kevin is finally in his last month of school. It feels like I have waited for this forever and it is finally here. (It sounds like I'm the one that's been in school- I'm sure Kevin is just as excited as I am that he is almost done.) He could always decide to go on and do more schooling, but for now I will be excited that he is almost finished with his 5 year apprenticeship. Yay!

Finally...

We got a fence!!! Kevin and I have wanted a fence since we moved here 4 years ago and we were finally able to do it.

Here is what my backyard looked like before:

See how wide open it is? Not many people on our street have a fence, so all of our backyards just blend together. It wasn't very much fun for me to take my kids outside to play because all I ended up doing was chasing them around to keep them in our yard.

So much better! I am actually excited for summer to come now and we can play outside. I will get to relax and enjoy being outside, rather than feeling like I am running a marathon keeping track of my kids.

I love this!

Every morning Drey comes in to my room, climbs up on my bed, snuggles up next to me, and goes back to sleep. Of course when its still sleep time, I take him back to his own bed, (or he just sleeps on my floor) but if it's late enough in the morning, I will let him stay. (at least past 6:30 or so...I am not a morning person at all!) Sometimes we are lucky enough to have Jena join us like this morning. I was laying in between them until I had to get up to answer my phone. I love when they are all snuggled up next to me and asleep. I sure do love these kiddos!

Happy Birthday Kevo!

It was Kevin's birthday this weekend. Here is the card Jena made for him. I was so proud of her. She wrote the card all by herself. ( I just had to tell her how to spell the words)

I figured we would go to dinner or something for Kevin's birthday, but he decided he would rather just stay home and hang out. So, we just ran to a little deli by our house and got some sandwiches for dinner and then we came home and had our own little birthday party. The kids loved it! We played "Pin the tail on the donkey."
I was so surprised that Drey actually kept the blindfold on.

We played "Hide and Seek." Jena loves this game. She asks to play it all the time, so I knew she would be so happy to play it for our "party." She doesn't really get the whole concept of the game though. She never stays in her hiding spot until you come find her. Kevin and I will play dumb and say "I wonder where Jena could be...hmmm...." and she will come running out and yell "Surprise!" OR....if she does actually stay in her spot, she will be laughing hysterically (and not quietly) so we just start laughing cause its too funny and we know exactly where she is. Drey was also not in to the game. I know he's still too little to know what to do, so he just ran around the house and gave away every body's hiding spots. Kids are too funny!

We also played Uno Moo. Jena got this game for Christmas and loves it!! She begs to play it all the time...especially with Kevin. She loves when her Daddy will play it with us. Jena has also added her own touch to this game. Whenever we pick up an animal to use, we have to make that animal sound. So...you will hear a lot of "oink, moo, cluck, bark, baa..." during the game. She is such a nut.

It was such a fun night. The kids loved it and didn't want to go to bed. Happy Birthday Kev. I hope you had a great day!! I love you!

Little Miss Independent

My little Jena is so independent. She loves to do EVERYTHING by herself. She is so independent that it drives me a little crazy sometimes. If I have done something for her, she will go back and re-do it, just so that she can do it by herself. She will take off clothes, shoes, socks, and then put them back on again just to do it by herself. She will get out of the car and then climb back in just so she can climb in all by herself. It even goes as far as carrying her breakfast to the table. If I have already set her plate and cup on the table before she gets there, she will take it back over to the counter, set it down, and pick it back up again and walk to the table....just so she can do it. She is such a silly girl.

Here is our newest independent adventure.....Making PB & J. She wants to make her own sandwiches now. Oh well...I guess it doesn't matter if they're pretty and neat or not. She still likes how they taste.
