She's here!!

Our sweet little Brooke is finally here. She was born last week, weighing 6 lbs. 10 oz and 19 inches long. More to come later...

Happy 4th of July!

We had a great 4th of July weekend. It was super fun that it got to last all weekend, due to the 4th landing on a Sunday. We went to a parade on Friday night, went to see fireworks on Saturday with my family, and had a BBQ with Kevin's family on Monday. I didn't get a ton of pictures, mostly because I've decided that I get too frustrated taking pictures of my kids when they don't look at me, but here are a few cute ones that I did get.

Happy Birthday!

Jena and I celebrated our birthday back in June. That's right... I am lucky enough to share a birthday with my Jena bug. She is such a sweetie and I love her to pieces!

We had a very fun and relaxing day. I love parties. I love having people over and having cake and ice cream and hanging out. So, I had planned on having family over for cake and ice cream the night of our birthday. I had even called and invited people and let them know what time. Well, little did I know, Kevin already had a surprise up his sleeve. He surprised us yet again this year. (Remember when he threw the surprise party for us last year? ) The night before our birthday, he took me out to dinner and a movie for my birthday, since I really want to try and make Jena's birthday special and that way we could just celebrate her birthday the next day. Well, on our way home from our date, after picking up the kids from his parents house, he told me that his parents had invited us to go to breakfast with them in the morning. I said that was fine, and was only slightly bugged that I had to get up early on my birthday to go to breakfast. :) The next morning we were on our way to meet his parents at McDonalds, when he suggests that we stop at Chick-fil-a and get some Chicken Mini's for me and him to take with us to McDonalds since he knows I love them (you should try them....they are delicious). So, we go pulling into the parking lot of Chick-fil-a, with his parents right in front of us, and everyone starts getting out. Little did I know, he had called and invited everyone that I had invited for cake and ice cream to come have breakfast with us instead. Everyone brought presents and we had a little party there after we ate. It was really fun. Somehow Kevin even convinced me to bring Jena's Barbie cake that I had made for her so we had cake and ice cream after breakfast. We got to spend the rest of the day just as a family and it was really nice and laid back. I didn't have to worry about cleaning my house for family to come over that night anymore. We went shopping and out to dinner, and just hung out and played games. Thanks Kevo! I love you!

Jena got a sleeping bad from her Grandma and Grandpa for her birthday. She loved it so much that she insisted she sleep in it for the next 2 nights. I couldn't even convince her to sleep in it on top of her bed. She had to be on the floor.

One day, while spring cleaning my house, I had pulled everything out from under my bed so I could vacuum under it. Jena and Drey were having fun "hiding" under my bed. (Their heads were the only part of them actually under the bed.) Jena has quite the imagination lately and was coming up with all kinds of things for them to play under there.

Where'd he go?

"If I can't see them, they can't see me..." I feel like we are constantly trying to get Drey to stop picking his nose. Gross, I know! He now just closes his eyes so "we won't see him."

I'm a big kid now!

That's right- Dreyson is potty trained! Hooray!!! I honestly didn't think it was possible before I have the baby in July. But after I read about the 3 Day Potty Training (thanks Hillary!) I figured it was worth a try.

I'm not going to lie- It was HARD! Days 1 & 2 were so hard. I was pretty much ready to give up on day 2. But somewhere between day 2 and day 3, it "clicked." We didn't have a single accident on day 3. Not that we haven't had an accident since or that we won't in the future, but going on day 10 now and we are doing great. Now I get a 3 month diaper break!

Happy Birthday Drey!

My sweet little Dreyson turned 2 last weekend. I know I say this about every little milestone in my kids life, but I can't believe he's 2 already! Time goes by too fast! I absolutely love this little guy. Seriously, how can you not? Look at that cute face!

Here he is with his birthday presents. Dreyson is a very busy boy. I tried really hard to buy him presents where he could be active. He is not one to sit and play, not even with cars, so I had to think of things that he could do. He got a t- ball set, stick horse, and some new toys for our sandbox. Hopefully that will keep us busy outside this summer.
Drey loves trains! He goes crazy when he sees any sort of train. Here he's showing off his new Thomas the Train shirt. He also got a Thomas book that plays music from Nana and Papa, and a Mickey Mouse train from my sisters. They all know him well. (He also LOVES Mickey Mouse.)

Here are just a few things about Drey:

-Drey is such a sweetheart. He loves to cuddle and snuggle. He still comes in my room every morning and snuggles up to me. Sometimes he stays for a minute, sometimes for an hour, but he does it every day.

-Drey loves to tease. He thinks he is so funny when he takes something of some one's and then pretends to give it back, only to turn and run off. He will do this over and over.

-Drey is still not a talker. We are hoping that will improve in the next few months.(at least before his 3rd birthday. ha!) Here are a few things he does say:

• Mom
• Dad
• Nana
• Papa
• Puppy (This is what he calls Jena. We ask him to call for Jena and he will yell "Puppy!" Too funny!)
• Cookie/Mickey/Kitty (these are all the same word, you just have to pay attention to what he's doing or pointing at)
• Baby
• Pop (he says this for bubbles)
• Cheese /Keys (again, same word, just have to watch what he's doing)
• He can sign for milk, please, and thank you.

-I used to say that Drey was definitely a mama's boy, but he's starting to make me think otherwise. He asks for Daddy first thing in the morning. (after he cuddles with me- ha!) He loves to watch for Kevin to come home from work and he is usually the first to greet Kevin at the door. He asks for Daddy at night when brushing teeth and always wants Kevin to do it, which makes it hard when Kevin is still gone to school at night. I have to convince him to let me help him.

-Drey absolutely loves Jena. He will go along with almost anything she says. He follows her around all day and wants to do just what Jena is doing, even if it includes playing barbies, dolls, or house. He laughs at anything Jena laughs at. I know there are times when they are watching cartoons and he doesn't understand that something is funny, but he will laugh because Jena does.

-Dreyson loves his Grandpa's. Whenever we go to either set of Grandparents house, he goes straight for Grandpa every time.
